My feet are sore and my hands are dry and cracked. I have been working hard all day keeping my ducklings and chickens safe because this afternoon a large predatory bird killed two of my baby chicks. Condor and Lily were slaughtered and I hate that it was only hours after we had let them out and gave them some leftover popcorn and watched them play and laughed as they did silly things. We have taken precautions to hopefully prevent this from ever happening again. A net has gone over their outdoor pen and we will be getting a plastic owl to scare away any more birds.

My trip to oklahoma ended yesterday. Unfortunately didnt get to spend any time shopping in texas like i had wanted to so pretty much spent all my time in oklahoma doing nothing. Of course for the first few days i was miserably sick, at least i eventually got to get some yarn so i wasnt bored while my boyfriend played video games with his brothers.
Didnt get to go to any local yarn shops down there so I couldnt look for the color yarn i needed which is the color of a tabby cat for my friends cat plush order. I might have to figure out how to dye my own yarn for it. Sounds fun, at least and seems like a great outside projecr dor my mom and i to do since its going to be beautiful this week.
Anyway, we got to the airport in dallas on time yesterday and went thriugh check in and securiy pretty quickly only to find our flight was delayed. We were supposed to take off at 4:15pm cst ended up not even getting in the air until 2 hours later. I thought we were going to miss our flight for sure. The plane landed in laguardia airport for our layover at 10:30pm est. Our second flight was supposed to have taken off at 10:25pm. Found a flight status screen and what luck, our second flight had been delayed a half hour! Of course all the delays were because of the cutbacks from the sequester which our pilot told us on our flight home to manchester. Forty five minutes later we were landing in good ol ’ new hampshire. While we waited for our suitcase, I pointed at the gate we passed through to get to baggage claim and told my boyfriend it was a good thing our flight got delayed because it was the last one of the night because the gate had been closed. If we hadnt made it we would have neen staying overnight in new york. I want to thank the star i wished on and my grandmother both wich i believe made my wish come true that we would make our flight home.

Cake Batter Fudge

Ingredients

1 cup yellow cake mix
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter, cut into small squares
1/4 cup milk
sprinkles

Instructions
Mix cake mix and icing sugar in microwave-safe bowl. Add butter and milk. Don’t stir.

Microwave for 2 minutes. Stir immediately until completely combined. Add sprinkles. Do not overmix as sprinkle colour may bleed.

Spread into greased pan. Refrigerate for at least one hour.

*** UPDATE- One of our fellow followers (rhodeislandborn) tried this recipe and found a solution to the bleeding sprinkles. They used Funfetti cake batter instead of yellow cake batter and omitted the sprinkles. There is already sprinkles in this batter. She says that it came out great with this batter and the sprinkles did not bleed at all! Thank you very much for that feedback!

Woot! Just finished this super adorable grapefruit scarf! I wish it was scented. Cell phone pic doesnt do it justice. I will upload a better one later. My cameras battery died today. I want to say that doing the slices was a lot of work. I tried my best to make them even but hey, when you get a grapefruit, sometimes there are the super sweet tiny slices inside!
